Years ago, one of my buddies (Rick Alexander) gave me a genuine AP copy of the photo of the man in Tiananmen Square. The photo was inspiring to me because it seemed to be a picture of the fight against evil in the world. That fight just seemed so overwhelming at times, but the power of God in one person was (and is) actually greater! I framed the picture and have kept it in my office all these years where I can see it regularly.
This post gave me more insights into the event and a broader perspective on a twentieth century historical event.
I still feel like the guy in front of the tanks sometimes; but those feelings seem to come when I focus on the tanks, rather than the God who made the earth on which the people live who make tanks. It's a matter of perspective.
I think that the more I see the Greatness of God (worship), the less I concern myself with the tanks. They don't go away. They're just not the focus as much as He is.
Just thinking…
