Joyce has been in England for two weeks. She and her sister (Pat) visited family there. They went sightseeing in the English countryside as well as a few days in Paris. Every communication from her was filled with enthusiasm, and I am so grateful that we could send her on this wonderful excursion.
However, now it is time to come home.
I miss Joyce more than I can remember from past separations.
We've been married almost 39 years, and Joyce is more than my wife, lover, friend, and co-parent-grandparent. She is my partner. My partner in life. We have processed life together now for almost 4 decades. We have looked at problems together. We have made plans together. We have interpreted events together. We have played together, laughed together, prayed together, cried together, and shared the most wonderful and intimate moments of my life. We have raised children and grandchildren together, buried parents and friends together, moved to new places together; and, at times, have even been hurt together. And that's just the start of a list of what we have done together.
The operative word in all of that is TOGETHER.
I'm not sure how we will handle it in July when I travel to Africa for two weeks. Think I may borrow the money to take her with me! 8-)
Thank y'all for setting such great example!!!
